Microsoft muss innerhalb von zwei Wochen für bessere Lizenzierungsbedingungen bei Server-Software sorgen. Andernfalls droht eine Strafe von täglich fünf Millionen US-Dollar.
Eine erste Verwarnung gegenüber Microsoft hatte die EU-Kommission bereits letzte Woche ausgesprochen. Nun werden die Forderungen konkret: Microsoft muss den Code für ihre Server-Software besser zugänglich machen und den Windows Media Player besser vom Betriebssystem abtrennen. Obwohl das Softwarehaus gegen den Entscheid Berufung eingelegt hat, darf der Konzern nicht auf aufschiebende Wirkung hoffen. Die Strafe in Höhe von täglich fünf Millionen US-Dollar entspräche ungefähr fünf Prozent von Microsofts täglichem weltweiten Umsatz und dürfte den Konzern damit durchaus empfindlich treffen.
Es steht doch jedem frei, das zu kaufen, was er will. Wie das gekaufte produziert wird, bestimmt einzig und allein der Hersteller. Wenn der EU Microsoft-Software nicht passt, wieso nehmen sie nicht einfach etwas anderes? Also wirklich, so eine Frechheit! Die Regierung hat doch nicht über das Produkt einer Firma zu entscheiden!!!
Ich lese in letzter Zeit nur noch von Zensuren, Verhaftungen und Beschlagnahmungen.
