Bedient wurde er mit Hilfe von Kippschaltern und Leuchtdioden. Dennoch fand er seine Fangemeinde. Laut dem Museum soll kein geringerer als Microsoft-Gründer Bill Gates auf dem Altair 8800 seine ersten Programme geschrieben haben.

Also mich würde es heute noch reizen, so ein Ding zusammenzubauen und damit zu experimentieren!
