„Es ist mir egal, was mit dem Rest der Gesellschaft passiert. Es ist mir egal, was mit meinen Rechten passiert. Für den Moment bin ich ok, ich bin nicht anders, ich bin nicht interessant. Ich passe mich dem an, was immer der Rest der Welt von mir erwartet.“
Mit anderen Worten: Du bist ein langweiliger Schildbürger, und was du eigentlich sagst ist: „Ich will keine Freiheit.“
Wenn das für dich dein Weg ist, sei’s drum. Ich glaube, wir können besser sein als das. Wir können mehr tun, mehr sein und wir sollten es auch.

Glaubt man Delbridge, dann geht es Emerson keineswegs um die Zerstörung der freien Kommunikation. Er behauptet, wir alle würden ständig und überall lückenlos abgehört und überwacht. Von wem? Na, von der Regierung natürlich.
Es ist absurd. Ich fragte Delbridge, was denn seiner Meinung nach mit all den gesammelten Informationen geschehe. Wen der gesammelte Small-Talk, den die Leute in ihre Messenger brabbeln, so dringend interessieren könnte.
Das wusste er auch nicht. Natürlich nicht. Er meinte aber, dass immer wieder Menschen ohne Spur verschwänden, vor allem Personen, die sich als Wissenschaftler oder Journalisten mit Recherchen über Abhörmethoden herausgefunden hätten.

Ich habe gerade noch mal den Folder des Ministeriums für Informationssicherheit und Bürgerrechte gelesen, vor allem das öffentliche Memorandum zu den geplanten Kryptographiegesetzen. Dies ist der Ausschnitt, den ich mir ausgedruckt habe:
Die vergangenen Epochen haben uns gezeigt, dass es drei Dinge sind, die für eine freie Informationsgesellschaft eine fundamentale Bedrohung darstellen:
Das Verbot, das Monopol, und das Vergessen.
Das Verbot von Informationen hat Unrechtsregimen zur Macht verholfen und sie am Leben erhalten; die Monopolisierung von Information hat Kriege der Wissenslosen gegen die Wissenden entfesselt; und das Vergessen hat uns viele schreckliche Fehler der Vergangenheit wiederholen, und die Gestaltung einer freien Welt in immer wieder die gleiche, scheinbar unerreichbare Ferne rücken lassen.
Mit der Vorlage des Entwurfs zu den Kryptographiegesetzen wird das Ministerium für Informationssicherheit und Bürgerrechte erstmals in der Geschichte unseres Planeten umfassende und wirksame Vorkehrungen treffen, die Freiheit der elektronischen Informationen zu schützen – aus der tiefen Überzeugung, dass diese Freiheit das Fundament einer Welt in Frieden und Wohlstand ist.
Unterstützen Sie uns. Setzen Sie sich ein für ein endgültiges Verbot von Verschlüsselungstechniken. Stimmen Sie am 28.11.2044 für den Gesetzesentwurf. Freuen wir uns gemeinsam auf eine Welt, in der die Gedanken wirklich frei sind.

„Ja genau!“ erwiedert mein Kumpel. „Die Leute damals hatten gar kein Bewusstsein für Datenhoheit. Wenn du denen mit einem dezentralen Konzept gekommen bist, haben sie’s gar nicht erst verstanden, oder sogar den Trugschluss gehegt, ‚Zentralisierung‘ sei doch einfacher.“ „So ein Bullshit!“ 😀 lachen wir. „Das waren wirklich ziemliche Dubelis, und sie wurden so dumm gehalten. Manchmal hab ich echt geglaubt, wir schaffen es nicht mehr, sie aus diesem Sumpf zu befreien. Die haben ihren Sklavenstatus sogar verteidigt.“ „Gut aber, sie sahen auch keine Alternativen. Man hat ihnen ständig eingetrichtert, so wie es momentan ist, sei es halt so und das ändert sich auch nicht. Der Zustand sei ‚Alternativlos‘.“ „Furchtbar. Frage mich, wie die das hingekriegt haben, restlos alle so unten und klein zu halten.“ „Technologie macht’s möglich. Das ist ein zweischneidiges Schwert, du kannst Technologie zum Guten wie auch zum Schlechten verwenden. Ist doch mit allem so. Wussten auch die, die damals an der Macht waren. Deshalb haben sie sich auch so davor gefürchtet, dass irgendeinisch die Beherrschten Technologie gegen ihre Herrscher wenden könnten. Darum hat man ständig, dauerhaft, tagtäglich permanent überwacht, gemüllt, geängstigt, geterroranschlägt, desinformiert, komplett durchs Band und an allen Stellen. Da war ja diese Bewegung der Feministen, erinnerst du dich?“ „Stimmt! Die haben sämtliche Schulen und Unis unterwandert und unter dem Deckmantel der Gleichstellung eine radikal gefährliche, menschenfeindliche Zensurbewegung geschaffen. Texte wurden verwässert und sinnentleert, ganze Wörter wie „Neger“ und „Mann“ aus Kindergeschichtsbüchern gestrichen. Es ging nur noch um die Form, nicht mehr um den eigentlichen Inhalt. In den Schulen wurde nicht wirklich Wissen gelehrt, sondern strunzdummer Bullshit. Extra-komplexe Sachen, die so kompliziert aussahen, dass sie selbst die intelligenten Geister glauben liessen, es stecke was Schlaues dahinter. Stichwort: Java, weisst du noch? Und weil alle in den gleichen Topf reinspritzten, hat sich niemand überlegt, ob es denn wirklich so war und nicht auch anders sein könnte.“ „Ganz allgemein waren Schulen Erziehungshäuser, die die Leute auf die Industriearbeit vorbereiten und formen sollten. Das hat man gleichzeitig auch genutzt, um sie zu formen und deren Denken in eine gewünschte Richtung zu lenken. Konsens zu schaffen.“
„Und das hat funktioniert? Die haben das denen voll abgekauft?“ „Die konnten die Menschen damals sogar jährlich berauben und von dem gestohlenen Geld wiederum Leute anstellen, die andere Menschen verfolgen.“ „Waaas??!“ „Ja. Und die haben es sogar so hingekommen, dass die Leute geglaubt haben, dieses System sei für das gemeinsame Zusammenleben notwendig, und anders könnte es ja gar nicht funktionieren. Wenn man die Leute nicht jährlich bestehlen würde, wer würde dann den Abfall entsorgen oder die Strassen bauen?“ „Echt jetzt? Auf solche kleinen Tricks sind die reingefallen?“ „Jaja. Aber die grossen Firmen hat man nicht beraubt, die, die wirklich vieles hätten finanzieren können. Immer nur auf die Kleinen und Schwachen. Das war ein sehr mafiöses System.“
„Tja, und dann hatten die Herrscher natürlich alle Medienhäuser im Griff und konnten alles unterdrücken, was ihnen gegen den Strich ging. Eigentlich ist es ein einfaches Prinzip, aber es wurde ein Riesenaufwand betrieben, und das an so vielen Stellen, nur um diese Scheinwelt der Unterdrückung am Leben zu erhalten. Weil eben alles überall manipuliert ist, fiel es niemandem auf. Da war kein ‚Glitch‘ in der Matrix.“ „Das fand ich das besonders Schlimme daran, dass sie so unsichtbar ist. Dass die Menschen überhaupt nicht merkten, dass das alles künstlich ist und dass sie derb gefangen sind. Sie wurden nur amigs depressiv und wussten nicht, warum.“ „Ja kein Wunder, bei diesen menschenunwürdigen Umständen.“ „Mhm.“
„Wie war das eigentlich mit dem Handel?“, springt ein Kind in die Diskussion ein. „Der war übelst reguliert. Du konntest fast nichts Handeln, wenn es denen nicht passte. Reglemente über Waren, Zölle, Normen. Der Handel fand mit dem Zahlungsmittel der Herrschenden statt und die wollten alles wissen, wer mit wem wieviel und was handelte. Jede Transaktion. Da gab es diese Einkaufszentren, so grosse Ballungszentren des Konsums, wo die Leute dann ihre Waren abholen konnten und mit so einem Plastikkärtchen gezahlt haben. Jeder Einkauf wurde genau aufgezeichnet. Und die haben die Menschen, die das produziert haben, nicht mal gekannt.“ „WAAS?“ „Nein. Dieses Einkaufszentrum sprang als Mittler dazwischen und hat die menschliche Transaktion abgelöst. Das direkte Geben und Empfangen, der echte und natürliche Handel unter Menschen, wo man den Produzenten persönlich kennt, das hat eigentlich sehr selten stattgefunden. Damals haben Konzerne die Waren produziert, Leute waren da angestellt, doch ein Gesicht hatten diese Konzerne keines. Und wenn mal was schiefging, haben sie sich alle gedrückt und es wollte niemand dafür verantwortlich sein. Die haben auch so viel weggeworfen. Alles musste immer frisch sein. Und die Produktqualität war absichtlich schlecht, so dass das Zeug kaputtging und man wieder neues kaufen musste. So wurden alle künstlich immer im Mangel gehalten.“
„Gab es Bibliotheken?“ „Klar. Aber für Untertanen bloss die Staatsbibliotheken mit zugelassenen Büchern. Selten echtes Wissen. Der Vatikanstaat hatte damals alle Bücher und das Wissen für sich gehortet, hermetisch abgeriegelt und bewacht. Zu diesem Archiv hatte niemand Zugang.“
„Gut, hin und wieder liess man die Leute zusammenkommen. Meist aber in organisierten Grossveranstaltungen, und meistens ging es darum, dass Menschen gegeneinander antreten und aufeinander losgehen. Oder es wurde ‚etwas geboten‘, eine Darbietung, Show. Nach der Präsentation gingen alle wieder nach Hause. Festivals, wo man im kleinen Rahmen und für eine Woche so zusammenleben konnte wie jetzt waren rar, aber die gab es zum Glück auch.“
