Auf der ganzen Welt haben sich Menschen zu Kommunen zusammengeschlossen und leben in ihren natürlichen Kulturkreisen, jede mit ihren Eigenarten und Spezialitäten. Überregional schliesst man sich zu einer Föderation zusammen, die immer aus wechselnden Mitgliedern der Kommunen besteht. Manchmal gehen Kinder zur Föderation und vertreten ihre Interessen. Sie haben eine Stimme und werden als vollwertiges Mitglied der Gesellschaft gezählt und respektiert, denn sie können uns vieles zeigen. Jeder Mensch findet irgendwo seine Aufgabe, ist aber nicht gezwungen, nach einer zu suchen, oder seine Tätigkeit mit anderen zu vergleichen und messen. Da gibt es Milchhändler, Imker, Netzwerkspezialisten, Händler, Schreiner, Geschichtenerzähler, Musiker, Tierfreunde und Gärtner – oder gleich Menschen mit allem zusammen. So genaue Grenzen wie „einen Beruf“ gibt es nicht. Wir sind nicht am arbeiten, sondern am spielen. Talente werden spontan entdeckt und weiterverfolgt, in dem man einander über die Schulter schaut. Wissen wird in Gilden ausgetauscht, und es gibt Gilden (Zusammenschlüsse) von und für fast jede Art von Tätigkeitsgebiet. Klassisch: Die Handwerkergilde. Dann aber auch die Gilde der Informationsritter, die sich mit dem zur Verfügung stellen und der Verbreitung von Information befasst; also Netzwerk, Kryptografie, Speicherdienste und Hostings in den Kommunen. Die Gilde der Blumenwächter schützt und erhält seltene Arten. Baumwächter und Waldhirten forsten den Wald auf und bestimmen Schutzzonen, die den Hauptbestandteil des Waldes ausmachen, und die Zonen für Brennholz. Der Wald ist riesig; fast 82% des Landgebietes bestehen aus Wald. In jeder Gilde finden sich Menschen im Alter von 1-130 Jahren, und wenn Menschen mit viel Erfahrung auf Frischlinge treffen, lernen die Kleinen sehr schnell und vor allem: Praktische Fähigkeiten. Dank der Gilde der Nuklearphysik steht in jeder Kommune ein Reaktor, der die Energie aus dem Raum selbst transponiert. Kunst ist überall. Jeder Tag ein Fest. Der Umgang mit psychotropen Hilfsmitteln ist bewusst und wird für verschiedene Situationen angemessen genutzt und wirkt bereichernd. Es gibt ganze Archive voller Wissen und Bücher, wo die Geschichte, Forschung und Erkenntnisse bewahrt werden. Jeder hat dazu freien Zugang. Die Gilde der Raumfahrt entwickelt an geeigneten Plätzen Raumschiffe.

I would like to inform you of a very important and serious incident that is about to take place in Texas prisons very soon, and will go unnoticed if the media don’t report on it.

There is not much said on the news about prisons, specifically Texas prisons. The government tells the public, “We are waging a war on crime and on drugs.” They use and manipulate crime rates for political reasons. Truth is, people don’t understand or care about crime rate statistics or prisoners. All they care about is unemployment and taxes; not knowing that the “prisons” issue affects these very problems. We do not believe all things should be normal, normatized, normalized, regulated, standardized, regimented or modulated. The new ISO 20121 (Sustainable Events Standard) does not make things better, does not make the world a better place for humankind nor for other species. And yes, we know we have provided significant contribution to sustainability and good examples of how to WALK the talk. However, we must stay out of this one as we do not think that affirming corporate delusion is the way to go.

Weihrauch brennt neben dem kunstvoll aufgestapelten Holzstapel, der später zum Seelenfeuer entzündet wird. Eine Laterne wird im Kreis herumgereicht. Wir geben das Licht weiter. Die Ritualleiterin geht mit dem Weihrauch im Kreis umher und flüstert jedem was zu. „Ich liebe dich“, kommt sie flüsternd bei mir vorbei. Gänsehaut fährt mir über den Rücken. Und dann wurde es erst mal still im grossen Kreis. Alle stehen andächtig da und denken darüber nach, was soeben passiert ist. „Stärneglanz – wünsch dr öppis!“ flüstert eine Mädchenstimme mir zu, und lässt Glimmer in meine Hand rieseln.

Die Ritualleiterin entzündet nun das Seelenfeuer mit dem Licht aus der Laterne, welches im Kreis weitergereicht wurde. Jeder hat einen Stock mitgebracht. Sie verbindet alle Stöcke mit einem langen Faden. „Wir sind alle verbunden.“ Der jüngste, ein mittlerer und der älteste Mensch führen nun die Reihe an und legen ihr Stöckchen in das Feuer, zusammen mit allen anderen. Das Feuer brennt gross. „Wir ziehen alle an einem Strang. Denkt daran, auf eine super Woche – es geht Füürwärts!“

Und so wurde das Feuerfestival für dieses Jahr eröffnet.

Six years since the invention of the blockchain, more people are beginning to see the powerful political implications that this technology brings. People from diverse backgrounds have been weighing in on its disruptive potential. While libertarians embrace the potential of cryptocurrencies to break up monopolies of the ‘too big to fail’ banking and payment companies, the rise of this technology was met with skepticism by many socialists. Activists who call for economic equality and oppose governments harsh austerity go further to say Bitcoin will become another tool for neoliberalism. So what is the disruptive force inherent in this technology? Is it tied to a specific political ideology?

Critics from the left primarily come from observations of particular events surrounding decentralized digital currency. On the surface, the trend of speculators trading Bitcoin and manipulation of exchange rates can resemble gambling, and some see Bitcoin as recapitulating the existing Wall Street casino-style derivative economy. This investment friendly image is strengthened when economists chime in to depict Bitcoin’s fixed monetary supply (a total of 21M bitcoin is created) as a currency mimicking assets like gold and criticize it as having a deflationary monetary design that would incentivize hoarding and increase wealth inequality.

Contrary to these perceptions, Bitcoin was never meant as a get-rich-quick scheme. While it possesses gold-like characteristics, it is also radically different, as it is highly portable and divisible (Bitcoin can be divided into 8 decimal points and more if consensus is reached). This is a new monetary design that has never existed before.
