Many people are afraid to run a Tor exit node. Note: An exit node is NOT the same as a relay! Only on exit nodes users from the Tor network are allowed to access the rest of the internet anonymously, which can be dangerous and prone to abuse. But Tor relays keep their traffic inside the Tor network. I’m running such a Tor relay since february. Now, I’m considering running an exit node.

I asked my hoster:

Am I allowed to run a Tor exit node?

They answered:

Dear Mr. Hohl,

For now our ToS allows Tor nodes. but please be advised they are really easy to abuse.
We will try to protect the network with our firewall in case of problems (we already experienced spam from ToR networks).
In any case a ticket will be opened upon abuse case and we will try to keep both sides confidentiality during negotiation.

Der Chaos Computer Club Schweiz ist nun offiziell gegründet. Die Gründungsversammlung fand am 15. Dezember 2012 auf dem Bundesplatz in Bern statt. Nun wollen die Beteiligten unter anderem mit Vorurteilen gegen Hacker aufräumen.

42 Delegierte verschiedener lokaler Chaostreffs der Schweiz haben am 15. Dezember 2012 offiziell den Dachverband Chaos Computer Club Schweiz gegründet. Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern zählen unter anderem die Chaostreffs Zürich, Basel, Bern und St. Gallen sowie der Hackerspace Freiburg.

Nach Angaben des Vorstandes gehört es zu den Aufgaben des CCC Schweiz, negative Vorurteile gegen Hacker des CCC in der Öffentlichkeit zu korrigieren. „Wir sind die Guten und setzen uns unter anderem für Bürgerrechte im digitalen Raum ein – Rechner zu sabotieren und Schaden anzurichten gehört nicht zu unseren Zielen“, hieß es dazu auf der Gründungsveranstaltung.

Außerdem will sich der CCC Schweiz mit Vereinigungen wie der Digitalen Gesellschaft Schweiz an Aktionen gegen die Vorratsdatenspeicherung beteiligen. Verletzungen der Privatsphäre und der informationellen Selbstbestimmung im Netz würden nicht nur Hacker als „Einheimische des Internet“ betreffen, sondern letztlich „alle Bürger in gleicher Weise“.

Die Schweizer Hacker schliessen sich zusammen und gründen den Chaos Computer Club Schweiz (CCC-CH). Die Gründungsversammlung findet am 15. Dezember auf dem Bundesplatz in Bern statt.

Der Zusammenschluss erfolge, damit die Öffentlichkeit verstärkt auf das positive Anliegen der Hacker aufmerksam gemacht werden könne, heisst es in einer Mitteilung vom Montag. Zudem will der CCC-CH die gemeinsamen Interessen der Hacker – auch in Kooperation mit anderen Gruppen der Zivilgesellschaft – fördern.

Für ein freies Internet

In der breiten Öffentlichkeit ist der der deutsche Chaos Computer Club (CCC) seit Jahren präsent. Der 1981 in Berlin gegründete Mutterverein steht allen Interessierten offen, die sich mit den Zielen identifizieren können. In der Vergangenheit haben CCC-Mitglieder mit spektakulären Aktionen auf Schwachstellen in Computer-Systemen hingewiesen. Aber auch der fragwürdige Einsatz von Computertechnik, zum Beispiel durch staatliche Schnüffel-Software, wird vom CCC mit Argusaugen verfolgt und öffentlich kritisiert.

Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern des Schweizer Verbandes gehören der Chaos Computer Club Zürich sowie die Chaostreffs Basel, St. Gallen und Bern-Ostermundingen. In diesen Zirkeln wird gemäss Angaben des CCC-CH gemeinsam über die sozialen Auswirkungen von Computern und des Internets sowie über die Gefahren und Möglichkeiten diskutiert.

Internationales Treffen Ende Jahr

Die Club-Mitglieder setzen sich für Datenschutz, Informationsfreiheit und für ein Recht auf freie und unbehinderte Kommunikation im Internet und für andere Bürgerrechte im digitalen Raum ein, wie es in der Mitteilung weiter heisst.

Nach seiner Gründung wird sich der Schweizer Verband erstmalig auf dem 29. Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg mit einem eigenen Stand präsentieren; auf dem bekannten Hacker-Treffen zwischen Weihnachten und Neujahr werden über 5000 Besucher aus der ganzen Welt erwartet.

Wilde Punks zünden Städte an?

Weit gefehlt.

Anarchie ist eine sehr menschliche, fortschrittliche Gesellschaftsform. Eine politische Theorie, wo die Individuen einer Gesellschaft auf gleicher Ebene miteinander leben. Anarchie lehnt jede Form von hierarchischer Kontrolle ab. Die Meinung ist verbreitet, dass Anarchie eine gewalttätige Bewegung sei, die den Staat ablehnt. Es stimmt, dass Anarchisten die Idee ablehnen, dass Macht und Herrschaft für ein friedliches Zusammenleben notwendig seien. Aber die Abwesenheit einer Regierung bedeutet nicht gleich die Abwesenheit von Ordnung und somit gleich Chaos und Gewalt. Im Gegenteil: Anarchie ist eine sehr feine und differenzierte Tradition. Gewissermassen finden wir auch dort eine Ordnung vor; aber sie ist selbstorganisierend und geht nicht von einer zentralen Instanz aus.

„An-archy“ means „without a ruler“, or more generally, „without authority“

Ich glaube, in einer Anarchie lässt es sich hervorragend leben. Ganz ohne Gesetze. Ich rede von Gesetzen, die eine Regierung erlässt, von Lobbyisten geschaffen, um die Profite der Konzerne zu begünstigen. Die Macht liegt in einer Anarchie bei den Menschen. Dass man so trotzdem Entscheidungen in einer Gruppe fällen kann, hat die Occupy-Bewegung mit ihren Konsensfindungen bewiesen. Lokal agieren und sich in Gruppen zusammenschliessen und Entscheidungen treffen, die auf die lokalen Begebenheiten abgestimmt sind. Das funktioniert. Das funktioniert auch für viele. Für die ganze Welt.

Anarchists do not stand aside from popular struggle, nor do they attempt to dominate it. They seek to contribute practically whatever they can, and also to assist within it the highest possible levels of both individual self-development and of group solidarity. It is possible to recognise anarchist ideas concerning voluntary relationships, egalitarian participation in decision-making processes, mutual aid and a related critique of all forms of domination in philosophical, social and revolutionary movements in all times and places.

Wir brauchen keine Weltregierung. Die Menschen vor Ort wissen am besten, was sie benötigen.

Grundstücke, Maschinen, Geräte, Infrastruktur – das alles ist Allgemeingut und gehört niemandem. Jeder trägt seinen Teil dazu bei, in dem er das tut, was er gut kann. (Wie wir das hinkriegen, dass so trotzdem komplexe Geräte wie Computer hergestellt werden können, wo tausende Köpfe dahinterstecken, hmm, da müssen wir uns noch was überlegen. Hausaufgabe!)

Die Bedürfnisse der Menschen kommen vor den Bedürfnissen von Macht*. (* auch bekannt unter den Namen Wirtschaftsinteressen, Markt, Profit, Geldgier, …)

Anarchism is both a theory and practice of life. Philosophically, it aims for the maximum accord between the individual, society and nature. Practically, it aims for us to organise and live our lives in such a way as to make politicians, governments, states and their officials superfluous. In an anarchist society, mutually respectful sovereign individuals would be organised in non-coercive relationships within naturally defined communities in which the means of production and distribution are held in common.

Individualität hat den höchsten Stellenwert der Menschheit. Die Einzigartigkeit einer Person. Was nicht heisst, das man abgetrennt ist — sondern Individualität als soziales Phänomen. Ausserhalb der Gemeinschaft ist Individualität unmöglich; man braucht andere Menschen, um sich als Individuum weiterzuentwickeln und zu wachsen. Der Mensch wächst in einer Gruppe auf, wird durch diese geprägt, und bringt seine Erfahrungen wieder in die Gruppe ein. Eine Gesellschaft, die nicht auf solchen Individuen mit all ihren Hoffnungen, Träumen und Ideen basiert, ist eine tote Gesellschaft. Das Menschsein und die Menschwerdung ist ein kollektiver Prozess, wo beide, die Gemeinschaft und das Individuum, daran teilhaben.

Die anarchistische Gesellschaft basiert auf diesen drei Prinzipien: Freiheit, Gleichheit und Solidarität.

Freiheit

Freiheit ist essenziell für das Wachstum der Intelligenz, Kreativität und Würde. Von jemandem beherrscht zu werden bedeutet, nicht selber denken und handeln zu dürfen, was der einzige Weg zur Entwicklung der eigenen Individualität ist. Herrschaft hemmt ebenfalls Innovation und die eigene Verantwortung und führt zu Konformität und Mittelmässigkeit.

Gleichheit

Es gibt keine Freiheit in einer hierarchischen Klassengesellschaft mit grossen Unterschieden zwischen Macht, Wohlstand und Privilegien. In einer solchen Gesellschaft wären nur wenige, nämlich die an der Spitze, frei, während der Rest Halbsklaven sind. Ohne Gleichheit bleibt die einzige „Freiheit“, zwischen einem Boss zu wählen. Die Elite wäre auch nicht wirklich frei, weil sie in der verkümmerten Gesellschaft einer hässlichen, ausgedörrten und verfremdeten Masse leben müsste. Da sich Individualität nur in Gesellschaft mit anderen Individuen entwickelt, wären die Mitglieder der Elite in ihrer Entwicklung eingeschränkt, weil die Individuen, mit denen sie interagieren, in ihrer Freiheit eingeschränkt sind.

Solidarität

Solidarität heisst gegenseitige Hilfe: Freiwillig und kooperativ mit anderen zusammenarbeiten, welche die gleichen Interessen und Ziele verfolgen.

We are all egoists, we all seek our own satisfaction. But the anarchist finds his greatest satisfaction in struggling for the good of all, for the achievement of a society in which he [sic] can be a brother among brothers, and among healthy, intelligent, educated, and happy people. But he who is adaptable, who is satisfied to live among slaves and draw profit from the labour of slaves, is not, and cannot be, an anarchist.

Uns fällt bloss auf, dass die hierarchischen Strukturen eine Entwicklung ist, die erst kürzlich erfolgte, in der Entwicklung der menschlichen sozialen Evolution.
