We thought it was important for the user to be able to invoke every menu command directly from the keyboard, so we added a special key to the keyboard to invoke menu commands, just like our predecessor, Lisa. We called it the „Apple key“; when pressed in combination with another key, it selected the corresponding menu command. We displayed a little Apple logo on the right side of every menu item with a keyboard command, to associate the key with the command.

MacHeist macht immer wieder mal so Softwareaktionen – so wie das Neptun Projekt der ETH für Hardware. Bis Morgen bietet MacHeist nun 10 Mac Apps für insgesamt $49 an, welche sonst aber einiges mehr kosten würden:

Hammer! Mich interessieren vor allem TextMate (cooler Editor) und FotoMagico (vergesst Keynote). Ach ja, Pangea Software (Dave? ;)) hat ein paar Arcadeklassiker wirklich schön aufgepeppt.

Greenpeace war an der Mac-Expo in London und machte die Besucher in einem eigenen Stand darauf aufmerksam, was für schädliche Stoffe in den Macs eingesetzt werden. Sie haben sogar eine Website für ihre Kampagne lanciert. Allerdings wurden sie nach ein paar Stunden schon rausgeworfen… Na, bin gespannt wie das die verwöhnte Marketingabteilung von Apple ausbügeln wird. hrhrhr

Apple has revealed that it is working on a new set-top box codenamed iTV. At half the size of a Mac Mini, it will look minuscule next to your other HD devices, especially if you opt for a PS3. The iTV will be able to stream HD audio and video from your iPod or PC with connectivity through USB 2.0 and both wired and wireless ethernet.
