Es wurde von wenigen reichen Ländern und mächtigen Konzernen ausgehandelt und würde einen neuen, nicht gewählten, “ACTA-Ausschuss” ins Leben rufen, der es privaten Interessen erlauben würde, alles, was wir Online machen zu überwachen und drakonische Bußgelder — oder gar Gefängnisstrafen — gegen alle zu verhängen, die angeblich ihren Geschäften schaden.

Wir demonstrieren für Informationsfreiheit im Internet.

Wir zeigen, dass wir viele sind, die diese Entwicklung nicht länger hinnehmen. Wir zeigen, dass es noch andere legitime Interessen gibt als diejenigen der Content-Industrie. Wir wollen mit einer friedlichen Kundgebung die politische Debatte darüber erzwingen.

Die Freiheit des Internets ist in Gefahr.

Der zurzeit im US-Kongress diskutierte Gesetzesantrag SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) bedroht die Existenz von Wikipedia. Mit der Begründung, Urheberrechte schützen zu wollen, sind Maßnahmen vorgesehen, deren Anwendung Zensur bedeutet.

Die englischsprachige Wikipedia ist heute aus Protest gegen dieses Vorhaben abgeschaltet. Auch die deutschsprachige Wikipedia ist vom Gesetzesvorhaben betroffen.

Das Gesetz wurde auf Bestrebungen der Lobbyorganisation Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) hin ausgearbeitet, die Teile der amerikanischen Filmindustrie vertritt. Es soll dem Online-Filesharing und den damit verbundenen angeblichen Urheberrechtsverletzungen einen Riegel vorschieben. Tatsächlich werden aber Millionen von unbescholtenen Bürgern kriminalisiert und demokratische Rechte abgebaut. So soll es ermöglicht werden, Seiten einfach abzuschalten, sobald sie auch nur ansatzweise Links auf Seiten mit durch die MPAA nicht erwünschten Inhalten beinhalten. Des Weiteren sollen Inserenten verpflichtet werden, ihre Anzeigen nicht mehr auf Seiten zu schalten, die sich angeblicher Urheberrechtsverletzungen schuldig machen.

Um die geforderten Massnahmen umzusetzen, müssten Kommunikationsdienstleister ihre Kunden und deren Kommunikation in einem Umfang kontrollieren, der nicht mit freiheitlich-demokratischen Werten vereinbar ist. Freier Informationsaustausch im Internet wird damit effektiv unterbunden. Die MPAA widerspricht diesen anti-demokratischen Tendenzen gar nicht erst, sondern weist vielmehr darauf hin, dass sich der von ihr vorgeschlagene Überwachungs- und Filtermechanismus schon in Ländern wie China, dem Iran oder Syrien bewährt habe, welche für ihre Unterdrückung der freien Rede und Zensur bekannt sind.

Das aktuelle Vorhaben der USA geht weit über ein Verbot von File-Sharing im Internet hinaus. Das Gesetz schränkt die Möglichkeit, am Gedankenaustausch im Internet, der weltweiten Kommunikation und der Teilhabe am Kulturgut Sprache und Medien derart ein, dass für Jedermann drastische Einschränkungen zu erwarten sind.

Gopferdamminomol. Die Occupy-Bewegung ist die Chance, mal etwas versuchen zu bewegen und nicht wie gelähmt vor wahrheitsverbreitenden Youtube-Videos zu sitzen. Hier sitzen Leute zusammen, die sich echt Gedanken machen über wie es mit unserer Gesellschaft weiter gehen soll. Sie tun dies freiwillig und bei eisiger Kälte. Eine echte Hoffnung, mal wirklich etwas verändern zu können. Diese Chance ist in Gefahr.

Ich merke im Verlaufe der Sendung, dass die grundlegende Systemkritik, welche viele in der Bewegung beschäftigt und auch von den beiden in der Sendung geäussert wurde, langsam aber sicher auch von Aussen wahrgenommen wird.

Die beiden Bankenvertreter sind leicht defensiv und können nicht wirklich opponieren, teils wegen mangelnder konkreter Forderungen unsererseits, aber auch weil die jetzige Situation offensichtlich ein globales Problem und somit eine globale Lösung braucht. Geri Müller (Grüne) überzeugte mich mit seinem fundiertem Wissen um das Finanzsystem. Wer mich sehr überraschte war Markus Will (HSG), der mit seiner Ansicht soweit ging, dass das Bankensystem an sich Führungspersönlichkeiten auf den höchsten Positionen hervorbringen würde, die sozial degeneriert sind – was eigentlich eine andere Art ist zu sagen: dieses Finanzsystem wird in den höchsten Etagen asozial und unmenschlich geführt. Wenn man sich dann vergegenwärtigt, dass das Geld ja eine Erfindung des Menschen selbst ist, bekommt diese Analyse der Degenerierung absurde Züge: eine Idee für die Vereinfachung des Tauschhandels, sprich das Geld, mündet in ein System, mit dem wir uns selbst asozial und unmenschlich verhalten – die Idee hat uns vergessen lassen, was wirklich wichtig ist.

Julia’s Beitrag, dass auch das ökologische Problem schliesslich auf das Finanzsystem aufbaut, dass die Ausbeutung fördere oder gar voraussetzt, war für mich eines der wichtigsten Voten in der Sendung. Denn es offenbarte, dass hier nicht nur Staaten (Eurokrise 2011) oder Kleinsparer (Finanzkrise 2008) vor dem Bankrott standen oder stehen, sondern Vorstufen sind eines globalen Bankrotts und Kollapses, aufgrund einer Annahme vom unendlichen Wachstum, dass sich dann im jetzigen Finanzsystem weiter auslässt.
