RSS wird verwendet, um Kurzbeschreibungen von Artikeln auf Webpräsenzen (insbesondere Nachrichtenmeldungen) zu speichern und in maschinenlesbarer Form bereitzustellen. Ein sogenanntes RSS-Feed oder Newsfeed (engl., etwa Nachrichtenfutter) besteht aus einer XML-Datei, welche nur den Inhalt bereithält, aber keinerlei Layouts oder Design beinhaltet.

Kurz: Ihr könnt nun mit einem geeigneten Reader Blogs anschauen, ohne auf die Website zu gehen. Allerdings in reiner Textform… Doch ein Link ist immer mit dabei.
