Micro$oft bekommt wieder einmal, was es verdient. Die monopolistischen Redmonter dürfen 179mio $ zahlen. Ein Gerich in Iowa hat diese Strafe wegen wettbewerbsfeindlichem Verhalten verhängt. Microschrott habe Produckte zu erhöhten Preisen monopolistisch verkauft.
Iowa won a lawsuit against Microsoft and now Redomnd’s society must pay beyond 179 million $. Microsoft had been cited for a violation of the laws on the competition and after a 7 years lawsuit it lost.
This is not the first time that MIcrosoft lose a lawsuit and it must pay a compensation, but this time the endorsement to give to Iowa amount to 179 million $.
Microsoft had been cited from Iowa for a presumed violation of the laws on the competition. After a 7 years lawsuit Microsoft has been condemned for anticompetitive behavior. But Microsoft cannot complain: in first degree it had been condamned to pay an endorsment of beyond 330 million $.
The judgment of conviction is clear: Microsoft sold its products for increased prices using monopolistic methods, which setted the abuse of the laws on competition. Every citizen of the Iowa who can prove he buyed Microsoft products in the indicted period (May 1994 – June 2006) may ask for his part of the endorsement until December 2007.
It’s a shock both for Microsoft and users: in fact citizens of Iowa will receive a paltry endorsement, between 10 and 29$ for any product buyed. Not a great wealth!
