Chrigel Maurer hält einen Vortrag an der Freewings-Party. Als gestandener Pilot mit 17 Jahren Gleitschirm-Flugerfahrung hat er schon unzählige Wettkämpfe gewonnen, die abenteuerlichsten Dinge erlebt. Doch auch er hat mal klein angefangen, und gibt nun sein Wissen und seine Erkenntnisse an uns weiter. Und ratet mal: Die Gesetze, die er in Erfahrung gebracht hat, sind die gleichen, wie man sie auch überall sonst im Leben antrifft.
Der Vortrag kommt für mich deswegen gerufen, weil ich mittlerweile wieder an einem Punkt bin, wo ich nicht mehr so genau weiss, was ich eigentlich will. Neue Türen öffnen sich, alte bleiben halboffen bestehen und warten auf eine Entscheidung. Andere haben sich noch nicht so weit geöffnet, wie ich mir das wünsche. Durch wieder andere Türen ging ich hindurch, um mir ein wenig Lebensqualität zurückzugeben. Letzte Woche habe ich die Amateurfunkprüfung bestanden, seit zwei Monaten in einem Teilzeitjob bei einem narzisstischen Diktator angestellt, und mein letzter Flug war 4 Jahre her. Soll ich jetzt beim Amateurfunk einsteigen oder meinen Gleitschirm wieder auf Vordermann bringen? Noch nie kam ich so wenig zum bloggen wie die vergangenen Wochen. Job, Projekt, Berufung, Freizeit, Hobby -- und wann habe ich Zeit für meine Freunde? So viele Ziele. Wie entscheiden?
Chrigel weiss eine einfache Methode:
Wenn ich noch einen letzten Flug machen könnte, welcher wäre dies?
Dann wird schnell klar, was man als nächstes wirklich will.
Üben bis zur Perfektion
Der sichtbare Teil des Eisbergs ist das, was man letztendlich sieht; der Erfolg der Mühen. Das sind ungefähr zehn Prozent. Doch dahinter stecken neunmal so viel Aufwand, bis dieses Ziel so erreicht ist. Bodybuilder bauen jahrelang ihre Körper auf, nur um dann für wenige Sekunden auf dem Laufsteg ihre Muskeln zu zeigen. Turmspringer trainieren Jahre, für dass sie für drei, vier Sekunden einen Sprung zeigen können.
Es gibt drei Stufen des Könnens:
- Gleich nach der Schulung: Man hat das Gefühl, „jetzt kann ich fliegen“. Oder: „Jetzt kann ich Autofahren.“
- Nach langem Training und mit viel Erfahrung: Die Abläufe gehen automatisch, man beherrscht sie, ohne darüber nachzudenken. „Autofahren, und nebenbei noch ein Gespräch führen.“
- Die Perfektion: Um jetzt noch besser zu werden, trainiert man an Extremen, unerwartete Ereignisse werden Intuitiv wahrgenommen, Denken nützt auf diesem Level nichts.
Und dann gibt es noch die vierte Stufe: Alle Piloten haben den gleichen Schirm, das gleiche Können und die gleichen (Wettkampf)-Bedingungen. Doch einige steigen besser, andere schlechter. Warum das so ist? Wir wissen es nicht.
Das richtige Material auswählen
Habe ich mein Ziel bestimmt, wähle ich das Material aus, das ich dafür brauche. Ein leichter Schirm für Hike&Fly, oder doch lieber Komfort und Sicherheit? Eiersauende Wollmilchlegenden gibt es nicht. Reduktion auf das nötigste, das mich zur Erreichung meines Ziels optimal unterstützt.
Üben in kleinen Schritten
Chrigel zeigt ein Video von einem Starkwindstart. Sowas ist möglich, weil er sich in kleinen Schritten da rangetastet hat. An der Krete ist der Wind stärker als ein wenig darunter. So fängt er unten an, bei nicht so starkem Wind. Wenn ich es bei dem Wind kann, kann ich es dann auch noch beim stärkeren? Und beim noch stärkeren?
Die Route führt auf den Berg. Das grosse Endziel, der Berggipfel -- so weit weg, so unerreichbar. Doch Zwischenziele, kleine Schritte -- sind erreichbar. Sich immer wieder kleine Zwischenziele setzen, und das grosse Endziel im Hinterkopf behalten. Scheitern gehört dazu.
Visualisation des gewünschten Ergebnisses
Die Erfahrung und das Können sind da. Doch wann ich mein Ziel erreiche, hängt von den Bedingungen ab. Da ist es wichtig, möglichst „weit“ zu denken. Wenn dann die Bedingungen plötzlich besser sind, als ich mir vorgestellt habe, dan „hängt“ die Vorstellung den Bedingungen hinterher.
Die Bedingungen können sich so verguten, wie es niemand für möglich hält. Eines Tages hat ein Passagier gewitzelt, „wir könnten doch mal über’s Matterhorn fliegen“. Noch nie hat das jemand gemacht, selbst Chrigel hielt es für unwahrscheinlich. Das würde doch nur in den unwahrscheinlichsten Bedingungen klappen, und in dieser dünnen Luft auf 4500 Meter… Doch seine Intuition sagte ihm, dass die Bedingungen für so einen Flug an diesem Tag gut sein _könnten_, also bewegten sie sich schon mal in Richtung Matterhorn… Bis dann:

Wenn die Bedingungen besser sind als in der eigenen Vorstellung -- was dann? Irgendwas hat uns in neues Terrain gehoben, und uns gehen die Ideen aus, was man da noch alles machen könnte. Deswegen immer „weiter“ denken in der eigenen Vorstellung.
Ziel ausgewählt
Ich habe mein Ziel ausgewählt. Ironischerweise fällt das Fliegen unten raus. Ich ging an eine Gleitschirmparty, um wieder mit dem Fliegen anzufangen -- nur um dann festzustellen, dass das doch nicht mein Ziel ist. Jedenfalls jetzt noch nicht.
