Informationelle Selbstbestimmung, freier Zugang zu Wissen und Kultur und die Wahrung der Privatsphäre sind die Grundpfeiler der zukünftigen Informationsgesellschaft.
Die Piraten sprechen einfach so mit ihren Wählern, wie das normale Menschen im Alltag auch tun. Damit heben sie sich von der Dauerinszenierung der Politik ab.
Näher am Menschen
Ein Facebook-Dialog mit dem Presseteam eines Politikers ist im Schnitt so ergiebig wie ein Kaffeeplausch mit einer Sprechpuppe und genauso beliebt.
Umgekehrt ist bei der Piratenpartei die digitale Nähe zum Bürger, jedenfalls zum vernetzten Bürger, die Regel. Der Erfolg der Piraten beruht weniger auf dem Internet, sondern viel mehr darauf, was man mit dem Internet machen kann: direkte Verbindungen herstellen.
Dieser Erfolg besteht deshalb vor allem aus dem Problem der anderen Parteien. Und das ist ein Problem der Ansprache – und damit der Sprache selbst. Nun hat das Internet die Möglichkeit neu gegeben, die Sprache zwischen Politik und Bürger dem echten Leben anzupassen. Und nur die Piraten nutzen diese Möglichkeit konsequent. Sie haben daraus sogar eine Kommunikationshaltung über alle Medien hinweg entwickelt.
Man kann „Ruhe!“ schreien.
Oder einfach ruhig sein.
Man kann „wir sind transparent“ schreiben.
Oder einfach transparent sein.
Eingestandenes Unwissen wirkt kompetenter als entlarvtes Unwissen
Der oft gehörte Vorwurf der Unprofessionalität der Piraten bezieht sich auf Antworten wie: „Davon habe ich keine Ahnung, aber ich werde mich einarbeiten.“
Dieser Satz ist in einem Alltagsgespräch das Ehrlichste und Konstruktivste, was man in der entsprechenden Situation sagen kann. Politisch ist er außerhalb der Piratenpartei kaum vorstellbar. Denn die Sprache der Politik hat bekannterweise mit dem Alltag nichts mehr zu tun, sondern ist zur Inszenierung geronnen, die kampftaktisch funktionieren soll: als Schutz gegen Angriffe anderer Parteien und der Medien sowie als Durchhalteparole für die eigenen Truppen.
Die Piraten stehen für eine politische Sprache, die im Netz geboren ist: Dort gibt es immer einen Kommentator, der seine zweite Doktorarbeit zum diskutierten Thema geschrieben hat und sich besser auskennt. Und eingestandenes Unwissen wirkt sympathischer und sogar kompetenter als entlarvtes Unwissen, das haben die intelligenteren der im Netz sozialisierten Leute schnell gelernt.
Barack Obama, dem politische Kommunikation oft besser zu gelingen scheint als Politik, hat den Wunsch nach netztypischer Offenheit samt zugegebener Unzulänglichkeit erkannt. Bei der fehlgeschlagenen Besetzung eines wichtigen Regierungspostens sagte er 2009 in einem TV-Interview: „Ich hab’s total verbockt – das sage ich hier im Fernsehen, und das ist Teil der Ära der Verantwortung.“ Knapper lässt sich der Zusammenhang zwischen offener, nachvollziehbarer Kommunikation und politischer Verantwortung kaum verdichten.
Politik. Das Betriebssystem der Gesellschaft.
Machen wir es Open Source.
Die Piraten meinen es Ernst mit Open Government, mit transparenter Politikführung. Bei keiner anderen Partei lassen sich die Beschlüsse und Protokolle eines Vorstandes im Netz abrufen.
Wir sind Piraten. Wir sind Menschen. Wir kochen auch nur mit Wasser.
Dafür aber ehrlich und transparent.
