Die IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) ist eine übergeordnete Organisation, welche die Interessen der Musikindustrie vertritt. Jetzt ist die Domain ifpi.com ausgerechnet von der «International Federation of Pirates Interests» übernommen worden. Registriert ist die Adresse auf Peter Kopimi, ein Mitbegründer von The Pirate Bay. Diese schwedische Organisation nennt sich selbst den grössten BitTorrent-Tracker der Welt – also ein Download-Paradies für Nutzer des BitTorrent-Netzes. Möglich war die Übernahme der Domain, weil die IFPI es versäumt hatte, ihre Registrierung für ifpi.com rechtzeitig zu verlängern.
