Ich bin gerade auf die perfekte Hardware für nen IPCop gestossen. Den NorhTec MicroClient Jr.

Der kleine Kasten, der nicht grösser als ein Router ist, besticht durch folgende Features:

  • CF-Karte anstelle einer HD
  • 128MB RAM, x86 Prozessor
  • Keine lärmigen Lüfter
  • Geringe Stromaufnahme
  • IPCop auf Wunsch bereits vorinstalliert

Ich glaube es wird Zeit, meine alte Schrottkiste durch etwas modernes, stromsparendes zu ersetzten…

Etwas ähnliches zum selber zusammenstellen gibt es auch in der Schweiz bei PC Engines http://www.pcengines.ch/index.htm mit zwei oder drei Netzwerkkarten. Die Grösse ist vergleichbar, auch ohne Lüfter usw.

füre ipcop installation werde doch mind. 2 NICs brucht? denn chunnsch jo grad emol ins internet use 🙂 usb2eth oder was ?!!

übrigens: dr wrap wird vo pcengines.ch nuemm produziert. es gitt weltwitt aber no verkäufer wos ahbiete. bi pcengines.ch kriegsch nummeno ersatzteili, so case, netzteil, antenne und so adapterkäbeli würd i no doett bezieh -> platine eifach vom dütsche oder französie.

will mir nid klar isch, wie me de norhtec als ipcop betriebe söll, kummi no mit dem: bi embcop.org gitts perfekt-vorgfertigti ipcop CF-Card-Images, für jedi CF-Grössi (128, 256, 512, 1024 und sogar 1024small MBs:))

Die Images hend sogar e Schribzykle-Patch vorkonfiguriert, sodass Image au wirklich für CF Karte optimiert isch und nid stündlich irgendwelchi unnötige Logs schriebe muess.

In Vrbindig mit sogenannte Longlife CF Cards -> Wär e Marketing-Strategie wert ^^
