Studenten der Berner Fachhochschule haben einen Blindenschriftdrucker entwickelt, der auf Basis von Tintenstrahltechnologie arbeitet.

Blinde lesen die so genannte Braille-Schrift, die sich aus erhobenen Punkten zusammensetzt. Bisherige Drucker, die diese Schrift ausgeben konnten, arbeiteten mit der Prägetechnik. Diese waren nicht ganz günstig, da man mit Spezialpapier arbeiten musste. Mit der neuen Methode werden 0,3 Millimeter hohe Tintenpunkte aufgetragen. Das Vorgehen funktioniert auch mit gewöhnlichem Papier. Für das Projekt haben die Studenten der Fachhochschule Bern vor Kurzem den Burgdorfer Innovationspreis erhalten.
