Was ich gestern per Zufall entdeckt habe, klingt jetzt vermutlich extrem unrealistisch. Aber nein – es ist wirklich wahr! Was denkt ihr, wieviel Speicherplatz und Features kriegt man für Fr. 4.- pro Monat? 20MB? 100? 500? Alles Falsch!

–> Fette 4GB (4’096MB!) Speicherplatz!!!

Anfangs dachte ich, ha, lool, lustiger Witz. Sicher 200 Kunden gleichzeitig auf einem riesen Server, um Kosten zu sparen. Wird wohl auch entsprechend gut laufen. Doch bei genauerem Hinsehen entpuppt sich Hostorama als Unterfirma von Metanet – und Metanet gehört zu den besten Providern der Schweiz. Vor allem sei dort der Support allererste Sahne: Mein ehemaliger Chef hat dort seinen Webspace, und er hatte am Sonntag um 3 Uhr morgens eine Supportanfrage geschickt – und 10min später war die Antwort da!
Doch bei Metanet kosten die Angebote wesentlich mehr. Grund? Der Support!

Metanet hat mit Hostorama nun ein Angebot für Kunden erstellt, welche nicht auf so hochwertigen Support und SLAs angewiesen sind. Stattdessen gibt’s viel Technik zu einem noch kleineren Preis!

Das Dickste: Selbst ein Root-Server mit SSH-Zugang ist im Angebot – 14GB für 14.-!

Doch Speicherplatz soll sicher nicht das einzige Feature sein – was gibt es denn da noch?

– PHP 5
– Plesk, ein superkomfortables Admintool, mit dem auch Webapplikationen wie WordPress per Mausklick installiert werden können
– SSL(!)
– Alles unlimitiert (FTP, E-Mail, Subdomains, Traffic…) ausser Speicherplatz und Anzahl Datenbanken

Das Ganze läuft natürlich unter Linux auf einem wirklich pfeilschnellen Server!
Woher ich das weiss? Na, gestern Abend noch schnell angemeldet, und heute Morgen war bereits alles eingerichtet! So hab ich auch gleich alles kurz ausprobiert…

Überzeugt.
Wer jetzt noch keinen Webspace hat, der weiss, wo er sich anmelden muss!

Phänomenal. Jetzt hat unser Schulprojekt sicher genug Platz um sich zu entfalten!
