Oder was passiert, wenn sich der Dachstock mit genug Edelschrott angesammelt hat…

Kennt ihr das: PC-Support bei Bekannten. Alte Hardware austauschen. Aber: wohin mit dem Altmetall? Funktionieren tut es ja eigentlich noch…
Abfall? Nee! eBay? Nicht lohnenswert. Also wandert alte Hardware bei mir meistens in den Dachstock. Ein ganzes Lager hat sich im Laufe der Zeit bei mir angesammelt.

Gestern ging ich mal diese Sammlung besichtigen. Und was kam dabei heraus? Ein kompletter, nigelnagelalter PC!

Also, was haben wir denn da:
– Ein Soltek Mainboard, VIA-Chipset mit 533MHz Celeron (bäh!) CPU
– 256MB SDRAM
– Eine PowerVR Kyro II Grafikkarte
– Eine richtige Soundblaster 16 Soundkarte, ISA (boaaah… 🙂 )
– Eine 5.25 Zoll Festplatte mit 2.5GB Speicher – uuuuh (die hat richtig lange zum Anfahren…)
– Ein 12fach CD-Brenner Marke Plextor
– Und eine 10Mbit Netzwerkkarte (der 100Mbit Anschluss ist leider defekt…)

Nebenbei liegen noch drei Gehäuse, vier Tastaturen und ebensoviele Mäuse herum. Damit lässt sich was anfangen! Und schon ist meine x86 Teststation in Betrieb. Ob Linux, Windows – egal was, das ist doch ein tolles Wütsystem. Ein PC, der aus verschiedenen alten Teilen entstanden ist: Frankenstein!
