Donnerstag, 13. Januar 2005: Steve Jobs führt an der Macworld eine neue Suchtechnologie namens „Spotlight“ ein. Basierend auf einer Datenbank, findet Spotlight in Sekundenschnelle Bilder, Dokumente, Programme, einfach alles. *Peng*, dem Longneck fällt der Kinnladen einen Stock tiefer, aber er sagt sich: Das kann ich auch!

Schliesslich basiert das ganze Scratchbook auf einer Datenbank. Muss also nur noch entsprechend abgefragt werden…

Gesagt – getan! Die Idee kam mir auf der Heimfahrt heute, dass es doch eigentlich cool wäre, wenn man Beiträge, Kommentare, Snapshots und vielleicht sogar das eigene Messenger-Archiv in einem Rutsch durchsuchen lassen kann. Also machte ich mich kurzerhand an die Arbeit (gute Einfälle muss ich immer sofort umsetzen, sonst schiebe ich es nur vor mir her, bis es mich anscheisst ;-))

Tja, und jetzt ist es fertig. Die Bedienung ist ganz einfach: Oben rechts befindet sich ja bekanntlich das Suchfeld. Einfach eintippen, Enter drücken, und ab gehts!
Klar: Die Resultate erscheinen nicht schon während dem Tippen. wäre ein nettes Spielzeug, aber naja… Java-Script halt.

Snapshots, Beiträge, Kommentare und sogar das eigene Message-Archiv werden blitzschnell durchsucht. Die Resultate werden gruppiert angezeigt, von jeder Gruppe zehn Stück, vorzüglich die neusten. Wollt ihr alle Resultate einer Gruppe sehen, klickt einfach auf den entsprechenden Titel (z.B. Snapshots).
