Endlich ist es soweit! Als ich heute Abend von der ZHW nach Hause kam, stand doch tatsächlich ein Paket für mich am Empfang bereit (ich wohne in einem Sportzentrum).

Mein neues PowerBook werde ich vor allem fürs Studium verwenden, denn erstens finde ich es mühsam täglich das riesige 15.4″ HP Notebook mitschleppen zu müssen und zweitens habe ich festgestellt dass für die Anforderungen des Unterricht ein kleines handliches Subnotebook völlig ausreicht und so recht viel Platz, wie auch Gewicht, bei mir spart.

Warum ich aber nun einen Mac besitze und nicht einfach ein weiteres normales PC-Notebook liegt nicht an Longneck, sondern an meiner eigenen Begeisterung für Unix Betriebsysteme und da das Mac OS seit Version 10 nun auf FreeBSD basiert, ist es auch für mich brauchbar geworden 🙂

Natürlich habe ich die wichtigsten Schritte visuell dokumentiert, so dass ihr an diesem historischen Ereignis teilhaben könnt 😉

Die Bestellung hatte ich am 20. Oktober aufgegeben und wurde am 21. Oktober validiert (sprich ob ich wirklich Student und entsprechend rabattberechtigt bin). Auf folgender Liste seht ihr noch die kleine Weltreise, die mein PowerBook auf sich nehmen musste:

By the way: Dieser Beitrag habe ich nicht mit meinem PowerBook erstellen können, sondern noch mit meinem HP. Hab leider nicht die Zeit heute zur Verfügung, um den Mac ausreichend einzurichten, denn bereits Morgen erwartet mich die erste Prüfung an der ZHW!!! …und das bereits zwei Wochen nach Studiumsbeginn! Also muss noch etwas Büffeln…

Eins ist aber sicher: Bevor ich heute ins Bett gehe, wird in meiner WG – zur Feier des Tages – aber sicher noch ein Korken knallen und gemeinsam angestossen! Na dann, zum Wohl! 😀
