Die Menüleiste ist bei OS X immer am oberen Bildschirmrand, im Gegensatz zu Windowsprogrammen, wo die Menüleiste in jedem Fenster einzeln sichtbar ist.

Im rechten Bereich werden diverse Informationen angezeigt; das pendant zum Systray bei Windows.

Was bedeuten die einzelnen Symbole? Von rechts nach links:
Schneller Benutzerwechsel, Uhrzeit, Lautstärke, Signalstärke Wireless, Bluetooth (momentan inaktiv), Quicksilver, DesktopManager mit der Auswahl der einzelnen virtuellen Desktops, Countdown (Tage, Stunden, Minuten bis zur Gleitschirmausbildung – es musste soweit kommen 😉 , und besonders praktisch: Steuerschaltflächen für iTunes.
