Nein, gemeint ist nicht „Need for Speed“ oder „Notfallseelsorge“, sondern „Network File System“. Zitat aus Wikipedia:

Das Network File System – abgekürzt NFS – ist ein von Sun Microsystems entwickeltes Protokoll, das den Zugriff auf Dateien über ein Netzwerk ermöglicht. Dabei werden die Dateien nicht (wie z.B. bei FTP) übertragen, sondern die Benutzer können auf Dateien, die sich auf einem entfernten Rechner befinden, so zugreifen, als wenn sie auf ihrer lokalen Festplatte abgespeichert wären.

Sowas wie die Freigaben unter Windows, nur (natürlich!) schneller und stabiler. Samba hatte ich gestern heruntergefahren, und heute hats auch _endlich_ geklappt mit den Berechtigungen.

Was war passiert: Da mein Raid-System ursprünglich mit Fat32 formatiert wurde, und ich damals nicht genügend Platz hatte, um die Dateien zu verschieben und die HDs neu zu formatieren, übernahm ich das Dateisystem 1:1 auf Linux.
Per Samba griff ich dann immer als root darauf zu. Doch NFS nimmt die UIDs des Benutzers, da ist nix mehr mit root, da ich root bei meinem OSX abgeschaltet habe. Doch Fat32 kennt kein Rechtemanagement, es bleibt mir also nichts anderes übrig, als sämtliche Daten zu verschieben und das Dateisystem auf ext3 zu aktualisieren.
Die Daten sind nun verschoben, die Rechte gesetzt, und die Zwischenplatte testmässig per NFS exportiert – juhui, habe wieder Zugriff auf meine Daten! Jetzt muss ich nur noch mein Raid formatieren. Und da hab ich ehrlich gesagt schiss…….. Was wenn ausgerechnet in diesem Moment die Zwischenplatte abkrazt?
