Jef Raskin war der Hauptentwickler des ersten Mac-Computers. Er ist am Samstag im Alter von 61 Jahren einer schweren Krankheit erlegen. Jef Raskin (wwwjefraskin.com) studierte Mathematik, Philosophie, Computerwissenschaften und elektronische Musik, bevor er sich 1978 bei der Firma Apple als 31er Mitarbeiter anfing. Von 1980 bis 1982 leitete er das Macintosh-Entwickler-Team. Ihm wird der Hauptanteil an der Gestaltung der grafischen Benutzeroberfläche zugeschrieben, die mit dem ersten Mac den Personal Computer revolutionierte. Raskin verliess Apple 1982, zwei Jahre vor der Lancierung des ersten Mac-Computers. Er gründete die eigene Firma Information Appliance, die er bis 1989 leitete. Danach war er unter anderem als Berater für Unternehmen wie Intel, HP und IBM tätig. Am letzten Samstag ist Jeff Raskin an einer tödlichen Form von Bauchspeicheldrüsenkrebs erlegen. Er war 61 Jahre alt.
