Bild: Strohballenhaus in I-Kurtatsch

Ein warmer Duft von weichem Holz schlägt mir entgegen, als ich in das Strohballenhaus eintrete. Riesige Glasfronten fluten den Raum mit Tageslicht. Die Wände sind aus Holz, getäfert. In diesen Wänden befindet sich: Gepresstes Stroh.

Im oberen Stockwerk brennt ein Feuer im Cheminee und taucht die Raumatmosphäre in eine friedlich-warme, glitzerig-weich funkelnde Atmosphäre ein, in der man sich gleich geborgen, behütet und zuhause fühlt. „Genial!“, ist mein erster Eindruck. Dieses Raumklima, diese Wärme, die von den Wänden ausstrahlt – Holz, Stroh, Natur. Es ist mucksmäusschen still, obwohl das Haus relativ nahe an der Strasse steht.

Das hätte ich nicht gedacht. Wie kommt es, dass alle Arschitekten so auf Minergie abgeilen, und ständig nur diese gruusigen, kalten Betonklötze hinstellen; mit teuren, künstlichen Isolationsmaterialien – wo doch die effizientiste und natürlichste Isolation gleich vom Bauern nebenan zu haben ist?

Ich kannte Strohballenhäuser bislang nicht. Warum kennt das niemand?

Mein Geschirrspüler ist verstopft. Kalk. Am neuen Wohnort ist das Wasser härter, und ich hätte da Salz hinzugeben müssen.

„Du bist der einzige, der zugibt, dass er kein Salz beigegeben hat. Alle anderen [Vorgänger] haben immer behauptet, sie hätten das getan.“

Sagt mein Vermieter, sichtlich beeindruckt. Aber ja, wieso sollte ich das auch nicht tun, nicht zugeben? Ich will, dass das Ding wieder läuft! Es war ja so, und für mich ist es normal, die Geschehnisse so zu beschreiben, wie sie sind, damit man den Fehler möglichst schnell eingrenzen und das Problem beheben kann. Aber so langsam realisiere ich, dass das gar nicht so normal ist, gemäss der Aussage meines Vermieters. Was muss das für Rotz gewesen sein, der da als Vormieter gehaust hat. Leute, die glauben, sich mit Geschichten und Ausreden kurzzeitig Vorteile zu verschaffen? Natürlich war es meine Schuld, die Kosten nehme ich auf meine Kappe.

Auf lange Sicht zahlt sich diese Investition in die Wahrheit mehr aus. Es baut Vertrauen auf. Sollte irgendwann wieder mal etwas sein, glaubt mir der Vermieter. Das ist mir mehr Wert, als die kurzfristige Einsparung. Ich kann die Wahrheit sagen, und man glaubt mir auch. So richtig realisiere ich das erst jetzt, wie viel Wert das eigentlich ist, und die Geschichte versprüht ein warmes Nachglühen, an das ich mich gerne erinnere. Was so etwas „Belangloses“ für eine Wirkung hat und für Weichen stellen kann!

Vor über acht Jahren bin ich nach St.Gallen gezogen. Es ist viel passiert in dieser Zeit, und dennoch: Die Jahre ähneln sich. Ich weiss genau, bei welchem Baum am Horizont der Sonnenstand am längsten Tag im Jahr kehrt, und wie die Regenrinne tönt, wenn die Sonne ein halbes Jahr später das gefrorene Wasser auftaut. Jahr für Jahr wandert die Sonne am Horizont hin- und zurück. Ich hab’s gesehen. Ich mag nicht mehr. Immer derselbe Gang zum Einkaufszenter; immer die gleiche Stimme der Roboteransageschlampe im Bus, die die Stationen abspult; die Kälte, weil diese Stadt ja höher gelegen ist; Proletenjugos, die ab und zu ihre Ferraris von 0 auf 30 in der Wohnzone beschleunigen, das Brummen der abfahrenden Busse, und jeden Tag die gleichen Hackfressen und Glotzrentner auf der Strasse. Ausserdem kann man in einer Wohnung nicht richtig sounden, ich vermisse mein THX-Soundsystem, und so richtig trampeln und meditieren kann man natürlich auch nicht. Das *KLACK*, dass der alte Lift macht, wenn die Verriegelung in die Tür einschnappt, habe ich gewiss schon tausendmal gehört. Der Nachbar oben lässt in der Nacht um Vier seine Fernbedienung fallen, ich schlafe mit Ohrstöpseln.

Heute habe ich mir die Mutter aller Whiteboards gekauft. Das Teil ist 120×120 gross und schwer wie drei Elefanten. Aber das Beste ist: Ich habe nur 30.- dafür hingeblättert, das Ladenpreis hingegen beträgt krasse 280.- 🙂

Das Monster hängt jetzt links von meinen Monitoren direkt über den Keyboards.
