Wie kann man einem Spion vertrauen?

Gar nicht. Man kann niemandem mit einer Sicherheitsfreigabe vertrauen. Diese Leute sind dazu ausgebildet, um zu Lügen. Das ist eine Anforderung ihrer Sicherheitsüberprüfung und es korrumpiert die Gesellschaft, wenn wir solche Leute in unseren Reihen haben. Wir (Cryptome) finden, dass alle Sicherheitsfreigaben abgeschafft werden sollen. Diese Leute sollen keine Immunität geniessen können für das, was sie tun.

Hat Snowden die Dokumente der Öffentlichkeit gegeben?

Nein, hat er nicht. Er hat sie einer Handwerkerhandvoll Journalisten gegeben. Diese Journis benutzen die Dokumente nun, um damit ihre Karrieren aufzubessern. Poitras macht eine Ausstellung. Köbi Apfelbaum hat sich vor einem Jahr daran aufgegeilt, dass er exklusiv Dokumente für den Spiegel analysiert und aufbereitet hat. Schön – gib mir alle Snowden-Dokumente, dann kann ich das auch tun. Es ist leicht, exklusive Artikel aus Informationen abzuleiten, die nur wenige besitzen. Ich bin es satt, Geheimdienstinformationen von Jakob und Glenn mit dem Löffelchen gefüttert zu bekommen, vorzensiert und portitioniert. Diese Dokumente gehören der Öffentlichkeit. Alle. Unzensiert.

Vieles von dem Rest an Snowden-Leaks, der noch aus Greenwalds Anus herauströpfelt, war bereits vorher schon bekannt. Echelon. Internetüberwachung. Das ist nichts Neues. Was hingegen nicht veröffentlicht wird: Counterintelligence. Spionageabwehr. Wie können wir uns davor schützen? Die Snowden-Dokumente sprechen immer nur darüber, dass wir überwacht werden, und wie. Und alle geifern sie mit. Sie führen Debatten, machen Petitionen, halten Konferenzen, schreiben Bücher, halten Reden, produzieren Dokumentarfilme und veranstalten Theater. Jaköbeli Apfelbaum, vormals eingefleischter Tor-Evangelist, macht jetzt Kunst und knipst analoge Fotos. Laura Poitras macht eine Ausstellung in einem Museum – über Überwachung. Wie die Gegenmassnahmen aussehen könnten, davon erfahren wir wenig bis gar nichts.

Die NSA ist kein Geheimdienst mehr. Nicht, nachdem sie auf der Titelseite von mehreren prominenten Zeitungen vertreten ist. Ein Geheimdienst ist geheim, so wie z.B. der russische FSB. Die NSA ist ein offizieller Schnüffeldienst.

Classified, Secret, Top Secret. Es gibt kein Geheim mehr. Das sind Spielzeugklassifizierungen. Damit lässt sich wunderbar psychologische Kriegsführung betreiben; das „geheim“ verleiht einem Dokument einen besonderen, glaubhafteren Anstrich. Doch das, was wirklich geheim ist – matters of national security – ist so gut geschützt, dass es sicher niemals als Leak veröffentlicht werden könnte. Das ist Above Top Secret.
