Die Digitale Gesellschaft erhebt Beschwerde gegen Vorratsdatenspeicherung.
«Die Anbieterinnen sind verpflichtet, die für die Teilnehmeridentifikation notwendigen Daten sowie die Verkehrs- und Rechnungsdaten während sechs Monaten aufzubewahren.»
Ich bin eigentlich ganz froh, dass es sowas wie die Vorratsdatenspeicherung und Überwachung gibt, und die Leute darüber informiert werden. Denn: Je mehr das Internet kaputt geht, desto grösser ist die Chance, dass die Leute sich nach Alternativen wie zum Beispiel unserem verschlüsselten Netzwerk umsehen.
Das Internet ist noch viel zu wenig kaputt. Die meisten Seiten sind noch erreichbar. Gut, der Pornofilter und die Kinderporno-Zensurmaschinerie sind am kommen, und Facebook stellt nicht mehr alle Beiträge von allen Freunden dar. Einzelne Länder blockieren Websites, in China ist eine grosse Firewall installiert. Aber hey – DA GEHT NOCH MEHR, oder?! Sperrt am besten gleich alle Websites, zensiert alles, verhindert den freien Kulturaustausch und macht den direkten Kontakt unter den Menschen, der in einem bezaubernden goldenen Mantel einer privaten Sphäre stattfindet, unmöglich. Doch das ist scheinbar noch nicht genug. Den Leuten ist es immer noch egal, dass sie überwacht werden. „Ich habe nichts zu verbergen, ich guck mir nur Streams auf Netzkino.de an.“ Oh fein – und wenn alle Netzkinos eines Tages den Stecker ziehen, dann hast du gar nichts mehr. Nicht mal mehr einen Film auf deiner Festplatte, weil du dich abhängig gemacht hast von zentralistischen Diensten.
Die Filme, die du schaust, gehören dir nicht. Die Musik auf deinem iPod – sie gehört dir nicht. Die Bücher auf deinem Kindle – gehören dir nicht. Nicht mal das Abspielgerät gehört dir. Wenn du es „unerlaubt modifizierst“, erlischt die Garantie. Oder du kommst ins Gefängnis. Nichts gehört dir wirklich. LAAS – Life As A Service. Du mietest dein Leben.
Hattest du schon mal Musik mit Freunden getauscht? Die neusten Kinofilme aus der Piratenbucht gefischt, noch bevor sie im Kino zu sehen waren? Die Filme sind dann auf deiner Festplatte gespeichert und gehören dir. Du kannst sie beliebig oft anschauen, auch wenn du gerade kein Internet hast.
Hattest du schon mal ein Netz vor dir; ein Archiv, welches an Wissen und Informationen nur so strotzt? Wo du dich frei und ungehindert informieren kannst, über Dinge, die bislang geheimgehalten oder versteckt wurden?
Hattest du schon mal ein Netz vor dir, wo du alles machen konntest, was du willst? Kommunizieren über alles und mit jedem, und dabei die Gewissheit haben, dass niemand anderes zuhört? Das ist ein tolles Gefühl. Aber vielleicht sehnst du dich nicht danach, weil du es gar nicht kennst?
„Ich habe nichts zu verbergen.“ Vielleicht mag das für dich stimmen. Aber du mit deiner Ignoranz verhälst dich unsolidarisch gegenüber denen, die wirklich etwas zu verbergen haben. Es geht nicht immer nur um dich und um deine Unverdächtigkeit. Es gibt Aktivisten, investigative Journalisten, Whistleblower, Dissidenten – sie alle werden von der herrschenden Klasse unterdrückt. Killerdrohnen werden losgeschickt. Hier sterben Menschen, doch das scheint dir egal zu sein. Es ist dir nicht bewusst.
Das schwierigste ist, Leute wie dich davon zu überzeugen, dass Privatsphäre etwas wertvolles ist. Dass die freie Meinungsäusserung etwas ist, was man wertschätzen und worauf man stolz sein kann.
Ich frage mich, was es noch alles braucht, bis es auch du dich nicht mehr wohl fühlst im Internet. Deswegen: Das alte Internet soll kaputtgehen. Je weniger Freiheiten du hast, desto eher wirst du zu uns kommen. Hoffe ich. Hier wird nichts überwacht. Die „Vorratsdaten“ können ruhig gespeichert werden, sie sind eh alle verschlüsselt. Wir können nichts zensieren, wir sehen gar nichts von deinen Daten. Alle deine Daten sind auf der Box und die steht unter deinem Schreibtisch, und du hast die Hoheit darüber. All deine Kommunikation ist vom Sender bis zum Empfänger verschlüsselt – Telefongespräche, E-Mails – und mittlerweile haben wir sogar ein dezentrales Twitter aufgebaut. Bald werden wir auch Websites unter dem Radar hosten. Du selbst kannst das tun. Niemand wird dich dabei zensieren.
Wir bauen das Internet neu – so, wie es sein sollte. Frei, ungehindert, unzensiert.
